Sunday night we stopped into Jason Reeves album release party down at 3rd and Linds. It was also the kicker for his latest national tour, appropriately named “Love Sick.”
What we noticed right of the bat was that, not only was this guy a musician, he’s a poet.  A hopeless romantic infatuated with all things revolving in and around the idea of love, and the most endearing thing about him is his sincerity. It’s overwhelming.  For nearly 2 hours he sang song after heartfelt song about losing, learning, falling, flying, hurting healing, and everything in between, broken up only by short but sweet fumbling comments that sent the audience that inadvertently had the crowd laughing and swooning.
The highlight of the night, for us, though, was when he brought up special guest and fellow singer/songwriter Danelle Leverett of The Jane Dear Girls, for some BGV’s.  Danelle being a major co-write on the album, added an acute depth, coloring Jason’s tune with a soft harmonic allure.  Aaand they looked great on stage together.
Jason’s new album, Love Sick is officially available everywhere!! Be sure to pick it uppp!

We got the chance to meet Susie and Danelle yesterday at fan fair. It was awesome!  We also witnessed our first live JDG performance, everrr!  These two are soo down to earth and such killer performers and we absolutely love them! They just released the official vid for their hot new single “Shot Gun Girl,” andd we want you to check it onnn out!

Watch the vid HERE!

Suzie and Danelle of The JaneDear Girls take us behind the scenes of their debut video,”Wildflower.”  From an industry standpoint, music vids are generally money losers, but a good video, especially a good debut video is a major selling point, and these girls nailed it.
Highlights include a whole lot of dancing, trampoline jumping, and Suzie’s bangs.  Holla, cheg it out!

So if you haven’t heard their debut song yet, you have obviously been ignoring the radio.  Warner recording artists The Jane Dear Girls broke top 10 with, Wildflower.  Yea, you know ittt. Written by The JD Girls themselves, Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett.  Even our friends who hate country music love and know all the words to this song, so naturally, we had to check these chicks out.  The album is produced by Big and Rich‘s John Rich, of whom discovered them and introduced them to WMG, btwz.  And we give the girls mad props, because they either wrote or cowrote every song on the album.  That’s a rare thing.  Lyrically, most of it isn’t all that deep, but we don’t think that’s what they were going for.  It’s obviously more fun than anything.  The whole album is poppy and upbeat, with some bangin banjo and electric fiddle, anddd while we’re sure they will get a whole lot of “OMG, thats not country!!” responses, it will deff give them a broader audience.  Probably similar to that of Taylor swift’s crowd.  Anywayy, it’s cute and girl power-ish and doesn’t sound like anything else right now.  So, we’re sold.  We rock out to it whenever we go to the beach.  Our fav song; track numba 7: “Lucky You.

P.S. Check out their new single, Shot Gun Girl.  Hitting radio oh so soon.
