Love love loveeee this adaption of Bonnie Tyler‘s Holding out for a Hero.  Big Machine‘s newly signed Ella Mae Bowen cut this one for the 2011 remake of Footloose and it’s absolutely stunning.  We’ll say it again.  Absolutleyyy stunning!

check out the original version.  It’s just a tad different…

This past week Thursday hit up the Franklin Theatre to check out the star-studded Footloose Nashville premiere.   It was pretty awesome.  The whole cast and crew were on location, dressed to the nines and lookin’ super fab.  Among the attendees were Julianne Hough, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Whitney Duncan, Scott and Sandy Spika Borchetta, A Thousand Horses, Jamie Lynn Spears, Hunter Hayes, Lauren Alaina, Big & Rich, John Esponido, Jana Kramer, Ella Mae Bowen,  Katie Cook and many many more.   We can only assume our red carpet invites got lost in the mail somewhere,  regardless we still had a bangin’ night and even got to snag a little meet and greet with the extremely tall and sexy Trace Adkins.

Bluegrass Bluegrass Bluegrass!!!
We were lucky enough to attend the final day of the International Bluegrass Fan Fest, this Saturday. We heard about it, literally the day before, otherwise we’d have been there all week.
No complaints though, for a mere $20 we spent one extremely long day in the presence of instruments that were way too cool for us, people who were way more talented than us, and best of all… we got the opportunity to be front row for… oh yea… Alison Krauss!!!!!!!!

It’s offical. We can die happy now.

Sierra Hull. Alison’s second coming.

Darryl Worley came out to recognize his friend, legendary songwriter, Harley Allen.

Patiently awating Alison…

We are buy busy busy!! Expect big changes in the near future! With that being said,  this post is likeee maybe 2 weeks late, buttt anyway here’s some of the super cool music stuff we’ve been up to lately.

We started off last week down at the Basement with one of Big Machine‘s newest faces, miss Erin Enderlin.  Think Terri Clark meets Dwight Yoakum with all the swagger of Brandi Carlile, the vocal ability of Trisha Yearwood and all the lyrical stylings of some of  Nashville’s top writers.  At her young age, Erin’s had cuts by some of today’s Country Music’s biggest artists including two two top 20 singles with “Last Call” (LeeAnn Womack) and “Monday Morning Church” (Alan Jackson.)   This girl is so amazing.  So amzing that we went and saw her 3 times in 3 weeks.  .

Earlier that night we were invited to the Billy Block Show down to check out another solo act, Mr. Jeff Allan.   A radio ready, Texas meets Elvis, with a crazy/good collection of upbeat tunes and seriously good hair.

Wednesday night we hit up Demonbreun with a couple thousand of our closest friends for Capitol Nashville’s annual Street Party.  Emphasis on “party.”   The show kicked off with rising stars John Pardi and Eric Paslay followed shortly by our love, Eric Church and the fabulous Alan Jackson.  Talk about a “good time”.

We kept the ball rolling with an industry fundraiser down on 18th ave hosted by the one and only Laura Bell Bundy aka Shocantelle.   Great food, great people, andddd an open bar!  The night ended with a writers round featuring 4 of Nashville’s hottest hitmakers and a few of our own personal heroes, Barry Dean, Shane Mcnally, Luke Laid and Brett James!!!!  Together the four share dozens of number ones and countless hits by country music’s biggest stars today, such as Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Jake Owen, Julianne Hough, Sara Evans, Eric Church, Laura Bell Bundy, and Jason Aldean, to name a few.  Ahh so gooood!

Who’s it gonna be?!  Nom’s were posted this morning!  The 45th Annual CMA awards will be presented  Wednesday, November 9 at 8/7c on ABC, hosted by Brad and Carrie, once more.

Tonight on the 2011 CMT awards, Shania Twain made her grand  (and not so graceful) entrance back in to the world of country music when she totally face planted in front of, well, everyone.  It’s only been  a few hours since the show and already half of the planet knows what went down, no pun intended.   Not gonna lie, we laughed too, but in the words of Jennifer Nettles, “It  happens.” We can totally see like 3 snl skits coming from this, and a whole lot of jokes at poor ‘Nia’s expense, buttt it’s all good, in the end our girl gets the last laugh because she is talented, and amazing, and so gorge.  So Booya.  That being said, here’s  our attempt to put the focus back on the music that we all know and love.  This is  a little tribute to miss Shania Twain, who is just as amazingly talented as she is uncordinated.

It’s chaos here in Nashville, which means one thing and one thing only… The CMT Awards are quickly approaching!  If you haven’t done it yet, it’s your last chance to get your vote on for this years nominees.  Click Here to show some love.  It’s gonna be a close one for the Video of the Year category this year,  so you’re like, obligated to vote.  We’re peer pressuring you.  Here’s a clue as to who we’re pulling for, but for the purposes of our totally unbiased blog, we’ve gone to great lengths to disguise identities… VOTE ON!

Tune in  Weds. June 8th at 8/7 central to see the results!  May the best man win!

Ps.  Make sure to keep your eyes open for a set of awfully adorable twins when you’re watching the red carpet pre-show…  You just never know who might jump the fence… :p  But seriously.
