Earlier this year Shelly Rann turned a lot of heads when she released her debut single, “Hell On Heels, putting her at odds with the likes of Miranda Lambert and her Pistol Annies.  Now Shelly’s back with a brand new single entitled, “I’m All Over That,” and we’re super interested to see where it takes her!  We think this girls gonna have Trisha Yearwood fans coming out of the woodwork, what do y’all think!?

What are the odds the Pistol Annies have a song called “I’m All Over That” too?  :-p

It’s true! You heard it here first! The girls are officially signed to a major label!  No surprise that Columbia, Miranda‘s current  label were the ones to scoop them up!  Their single “Hell on Heels” is doin fab on radio, right now, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for these ladies!  We love love love them!  The full length album is gonna be killlaaa! Sugar daddy, they’re comin’ for you!

Well, it’s always interesting to see how one song does in relation to another. Especially if it’s got the same title.  Anddd it’s released around the same time.  Generally, these things happen out of sheer coincidence, so it’s really just the luck of the draw.  Anyway, we think it’s safe to say we’ve all heard, “Hell On Heels,” the debut single by Miranda Lambert‘s new group, The Pistol Annies And the consensus says:…We like it!  Now, take a listen to the Shelly Rann‘s single of the same name.  Word on the street is it’s doin’ alright.  Shelly’s got big shoes to fill, but we’re diggin’ the song.  What do ya think?

Last night we headed down to The Bluebird Cafe to catch a writers round featuring Kacey Musgraves, Nicolle Galyon, Will Anderson, and Brent Anderson.  When we got there the line was crazy long and we almost didn’t get in.  Buttt, As luck would have it we just made it in the door and we’re super super glad we did.   What we saw when we got in was a rare amount of talent, even for the likes of Nashville.  The four performers  worked really really well together, props to Nicolle for an awesome set up.   Above all, however, we were most excited to see Texas native, Kacey Musgraves.  We’ve been fans for a while and we love everything she’s got going on.  She’s un-apologetically honest, straightforward, and real. Which is something that most writers strive for but can’t quite grasp.  We’re totally diggin’ the creativity!  Like we said, it’s a rare thing to go to any show and really enjoy each individual artist.  So we were real pleased with how the night went.  Brent Anderson, who recently signed with Arista Nashville, was another one who really got our attention. We’re obsessed with well written songs and his were beyond clever.  His rhyme schemes were so left field but they worked awesomely together.  It’s clear why he grabbed the attention of a major label.  Nicolle and Will, however, seemed to be the big names of the group, Will being the lead singer of the indie band Parachute, and Nicolle having just written Josh Kelley‘s most recent single, “Gone Like That“.  They were both really talented.  Nicolle, the only one of the group playing a keyboard, totally owned it, you could tell that’s where her true passion lies.
This was our first Bluebird show.  We loved the atmosphere but we’re deffffinitely making reservations next time.  We may have had the worst seats in the house, ha or lack there of. Still loved it!
